TMCPF Attends Leadership Alliance Presidential Forum in Washington, D.C.

TMCPF recently participated in the Leadership Alliance Presidential Forum in Washington, D.C. Founded by Brown University in 1992, The Leadership Alliance is a consortium of 37 leading research and teaching institutions, as well as private industry partners, dedicated to increasing the participation of underrepresented and underserved students in Ph.D. and M.D.-Ph.D. programs. The Alliance has mentored over 6,000 undergraduates, with more than 1,000 alumni, known as Leadership Alliance Doctoral Scholars, earning advanced degrees.

The Leadership Alliance is committed to promoting and advancing underrepresented talent in research, fostering a more equitable workforce and society. It focuses on creating a culture of belonging, mentorship, and acknowledging intersectionality. The Alliance serves as a catalyst for national conversations on diversity, equity, and inclusion in research.

This year’s conference brought together trailblazers and thought leaders to share strategies for optimizing recruitment, retention, and engagement through diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), flexibility, and well-being.
