XAVIER HIXON
CFO / SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE CEO
Orlando Xavier Hixon, affectionately known as Xavier, is a distinguished leader with more than a decade of executive experience that spans multiple industries including, business and nonprofit/foundation development, education, financial management, media production, non-profit management, and community action. Currently, Xavier serves as the board director and Vice President of Operations for the late God Father of Soul, James Brown, Family Foundation and the past Foundation Board President for the singer, Chris Brown. For the James Brown Family foundation, he is charged with building the first Performance Arts Center for the family in recognition of late James Brown and maintaining his legacy; as well as, realigning and building the family current foundation. Additionally, he is charged with developing a STEM Academy in Ghana for Marble Arc International School of Dansoman, Accra, Ghana and the company, 360 mmg, which is the producer of the TV show, Color of STEM. He is also working with A-listed celebrities to develop a performance arts institutes in Greater Campinas, San Paulo, Brazil; as well as, develop their nonprofit organizations and foundations. Additionally, overseeing high-profile projects, in Canada and the USA, in the sports relations with several professional sports leagues and franchise co-owner and owner of Onyx Clinical Research Inc.
Previously, Xavier served as the Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of Operations and Chief Executive Officer/President for Prince George’s County, Maryland Community Action Agencies – United Communities Against Poverty, Inc. (UCAP), as well as, the Executive Council Member and Fiscal Oversight Chair for the Metropolitan Regional Planning Council overseeing $35 million for services in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and District of Columbia.
Additionally, Xavier worked at United Planning Organization as the Director of Community Planning and Research. He demonstrated his ability to leverage relationships and build strategic alliances in support of the organization’s mission of uniting people with opportunities by providing his business and financial development expertise to emerging entrepreneurs, providing oversight of the organization’s triennial publication, and Community Needs Assessment. Over 15 years, he served in multiple positions at the University of the District of Columbia; professor, senior director, financial liaison, to name a few.
Xavier holds a BS in Computer Science, Business Management from Southern University – Baton Rouge, LA, MPA – Public Management, MBA – Business Management, CNP – certifications in non-profit management and leadership from the University of the District of Columbia where he was a scholar and Washington Regional Metropolitan Council of Government (COG) Fellow. He is a proud life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the Class of XXIX Leadership Prince George’s, as well as, the Vice President of the Miss District of Columbia Scholarship Organization, a preliminary to the Miss America Organization.
He resides in the greater Washington, DC area, Fort Washington, Prince George’s County, Maryland.
